Jeep has made some great improvements to its smallest SUV in 2019 in both the looks and engine department. In addition to these major overhauls, there are a bunch of other refinements and enhancements that make the Jeep Renegade a great option for its class. Here are some of the more notable improvements.
Updated Engine
Perhaps the biggest change to the 2019 Jeep Renegade involves doing away with the optional 1.4-liter turbo engine in lieu of a 177-horsepower, 1.3-liter I-4 that pushes out 17 more horsepower than its predecessor. The 1.3-liter now comes standard on the Limited and Trailhawk trims, while the Latitude and Sport trims come with the same 180-horsepower, 2.4-liter I-4 engine they previously have. All trim levels of the Jeep Renegade have been upgraded from the standard six-speed manual transmission and are now paired with a nine-speed automatic with overdrive and auto-manual option.
New Design
The exterior of the 2019 Jeep Renegade sees an updated grille with newly designed slots, a lower front fascia with a modernized look, plus new fog lamps and headlights with LED bulbs. The taillights also receive LED bulbs and an updated X pattern. Other exterior upgrades include 19-inch wheels on the Limited trim in addition to 16-, 17-, and 18-inch wheels as well as new color options.
The interior of the Jeep Renegade sees a slight redesign to the center console, cup holders, storage compartments, and the addition of a smartphone holder. The Renegade also comes with the latest generation Uconnect screen, which is available in different sizes depending on the trim level.
Advanced Technology Package
For those looking for the latest audio/video technology, Jeep has it covered. The aforementioned Uconnect screen is the access point to a variety of apps that will make the driving experience a delight. Uconnect has the ability to sync with both Android and iPhone products and can take advantage of apps such as Apple Maps, Messages, Phone, Apple Music, Google Voice Search, Google Maps, and Google Play Music, just to name a few. The Uconnect 4 system, which is new to the 2019 Jeep Renegade, has quicker startup time, more processing power, and higher resolution than its predecessors.
Advanced Safety Features
Safety is always one of the main concerns for every driver on the road, and Jeep helps ensure that every Renegade driver gets home safe by offering over 70 different safety and security features. Some of the more technologically impressive active safety features found on the 2019 Jeep Renegade include a forward collision warning that alerts the driver to possible impacts, a blind spot monitoring system that detects vehicles the driver can’t see, and ParkSense, which monitors stationary objects and alerts the driver to avoid costly fender benders while trying to get into a tight space.
It’s easy to see that the 2019 Jeep Renegade will be a great fit for those looking for a smaller SUV. In addition to those listed above, there are many other features of the 2019 Jeep Renegade that make this vehicle worth checking out.
