2020 Ram 1500 at Jim Shorkey CDJR North HillsThe 2020 Ram 1500 is coming. Since the current generation of this truck debuted in the 2019 model, there won’t be massive changes, but there may be some. As always, the Ram 1500 will offer truck drivers a powerful, reliable ride that lets them get any job done.

Here are five standout features to expect from the 2020 Ram 1500.

Powerful Engines

The 2020 Ram 1500’s lowest trim level will sport a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 305 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. This will use Ram’s eTorque mild-hybrid engine system that uses electric power to boost the truck’s torque. This mild-hybrid feature also gives the Ram 1500’s engine the ability to stop when it’s idling and start back up again when it’s time to start moving.

If you’re looking for more power, the 2020 Ram 1500 will also have access to a 5.7-liter V-8 engine that packs 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the mild-hybrid system is optional.

Multi-Function Tailgate

Though no official information has been released on what the 2020 Ram 1500’s tailgate will look like, there have been some sightings of test trucks with a new tailgate design. It may be the 60/40-split folding clamshell doors we saw on the 2019 Ram 1500, but time will tell.

Ram Rebel TRX

The long-awaited Ram Rebel TRX will be the Ram 1500’s off-road special trim. Word on the street is that the truck will be getting the world-famous Hellcat engine from the Dodge Challenger. This 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 beast produces 707 horsepower. The Rebel TRX will be full of off-road features that will make it one of the premier off-roading pickups, a category that has grown more and more popular in recent years.

Customizable Trims

When the 2020 Ram 1500 comes, it will give drivers the usual great trim level options, plus some extras. The Ram 1500 Tradesman will probably be the start of the lineup, with the Limited at the top. The Ram 1500 usually offers special editions with every year’s model, and we can expect to see one for the 2020 year. You’ll be able to choose between the regular, quad, and crew cab, as well as long, short, and standard beds to make the perfect truck for the job you need done.

Diesel Power

There will be a diesel engine option for the 2020 Ram 1500, as always. It will likely be a 3.0-liter turbo V-6 that generates 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. There are also rumors of a V-6 EcoDiesel engine that will put out 250 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, but that information has yet to be confirmed by the car company.

New Ram trucks are always exciting. With the brand new generation of Ram 1500 trucks just debuted, the next few years will perfect it. Ram is constantly driving the truck world into the future by making the 1500 pickup better every year.
