Engine Specs

The standard engine on the 2019 RAM 2500 is a masterpiece on its own. A 6.4-liter Heavy-Duty V-8 HEMI with MDS that generates 370 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and 850 lb-ft of torque at 1,700 rpm, this engine can definitely hold its own. The standard transmission is the eight-speed automatic 8HP75-LCV, but an optional six-speed automatic 68 RFE transmission is available on all trims. The Big Horn can be outfitted with the 6.7-liter 16 Cumming Turbo Diesel Engine, which generates 400 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and 1,000 lb-ft of torque at 1,800 rpm.  That’s a lot of power!

Trim Levels

Six trim levels are available on the 2019 RAM 2500: the Tradesman, Lone Star, Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited. Each trim comes with the standard engine configuration and transmission, with a variety of options on the interior and in technology, based on trim level. The most luxurious is the Limited, while the Tradesman is the standard package, though it’s still a solid combination of comfort and efficiency.

Interior

The standard interior configuration on the Tradesman, Big Horn, and Lone Star are four-way manual adjustable driver and front passenger seats, 40/20/40 split-bench seat, and a rear-folding seat with an under-storage compartment. The Tradesman interior is standard in a heavy-duty vinyl, with the option for cloth, while the Big Horn and Lone Star come standard with cloth and have an option for heated front seats, premium cloth bucket seats, and rear 60/40 folding seats.

The Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited each have a different standard package. These trims come standard with eight-way power adjustable driver and passenger seats, driver and passenger bucket seats, and heated front and ssecond-rowseats for the Laramie Longhorn and Limited. This is an optional add-on for the Laramie. The Limited comes standard with leather bucket seats, while the Laramie Longhorn has premium filigree leather bucket seats.
